Her first book of poems, &lt;a href="http://www.uakron.edu/uapress/browse-books/book-details/index.dot?id=1463323"&gt;&lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;Mistaking the Sea for Green Fields&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, was published in 2006.  She has held fellowships from the Iowa Arts Council, the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, and the NEA. In 2010 the Poetry Society of America  awarded Eileen the Shelley Prize. She is a Prof. Emeritus of Writing at  UC San Diego. A recent fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, he is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Marquette University. He is a Certified Journeyman Farrier and lives near Livingston, Montana, where he shoes horses for a living. He was a first- team  all-league middle linebacker for the Mission Viejo Diablos, and  their  defensive high-point player for 1989. He went to UC Davis for  football,  attended three practices, and then after a few months  practicing with  Davis's baseball team, he developed an interest in  poetry and became  immersed in the Davis music community. He went to  the Iowa Writers  Workshop, in 1995 returned to the Bay Area, and in  1997 his first book,  The Little Door Slides Back, was published by  Sun &amp;amp; Moon. Its  first printing sold out, was let go by Sun &amp;amp; Moon,  and was reissued  in 2004 by Farrar Straus Giroux, who published his  second book, Music  and Suicide, the same year. He has also written  Ruins (Turtle Point  Press, 2009) and 2A (Quemadura, 2006; with  Geoffrey G. O'Brien). Since  1996 Clark has made his living as a book  designer, first with Wilsted  &amp;amp; Taylor in Oakland, CA, and now as  Quemadura (&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a style="font-family: arial;" href="http://www.quemadura.net/" target="_blank"&gt;www.quemadura.net&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;).  He lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Geoffrey G. O’Brien is the author of Green and Gray and The Guns and  Flags Project, both from The University of California Press, and  coauthor (in collaboration with the poet Jeff Clark) of 2A (Quemadura,  2006); his third collection, Metropole, is forthcoming from The  University of California Press in 2011. A chapbook, Poem with No Good  Lines, is recently out from Hand Held Editions and another, Hesiod, will  be out in July from The Song Cave.
